Privacy Policy

Your data

Our "Add Listing" and "Add to Diary" forms collect data about a company or event, along with your contact details. From the listing form, the company name, description, county, telephone number, email address and website link will appear in the listing pages of our directory and an email will be sent to the email address given to check the entry. We use your details to send a confirmation email and possibly to contact you later if there is a problem with the listing. From the event form, the dates, event name, location, county and website link, along with the organiser name, website link and email address appear in the diary. Your details will only be used to contact you if there is a problem with the listing. We do not pass any of the details on to any other person or organisation, except where we are required to do so by law.

Third party websites

The website contains links to other websites. These links are provided for your convenience. They do not signify that we endorse the websites. We have no responsibility for the content of the linked websites. We are not responsible for the privacy policies or practices of third party websites.

Cookies

Cookies are text files containing small amounts of information which are downloaded to your device when you visit a website. Cookies are then sent back to the originating website on each subsequent visit, or to another website that recognises that cookie. For further information about cookies, please see the Wikipedia article. You may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser.

We use Google Analytics to analyse the use of this website. Google Analytics tracking (and most web tracking software) uses cookies in order to provide meaningful reports about site visitors. However, Google Analytics cookies do not collect personal data. Please see Google's article on Cookies & Google Analytics for details about their use of cookies. Google's privacy policy is available at: http://www.google.com/privacypolicy.html. You can opt out of Google Analytics by using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

We also use AddThis to provide a "Bookmark and Share" facility. We allow third-party companies, including AddThis, to collect certain anonymous information when you visit our website. These companies may use non-personally identifiable information during your visits to this and other websites in order to provide advertisements about goods and services likely to be of greater interest to you. These companies typically use a cookie or a third party web beacon to collect this information. To learn more about this behavioural advertising practice, you can visit www.networkadvertising.org. AddThis's privacy and data practices are available at: http://www.addthis.com/privacy. You can opt out of AddThis data collection using their "Opt-Out" button.

These cookies fall in to Category 2 of the ICC UK Cookie guide. Category 2 performance cookies collect information about how visitors use a website, for instance which pages visitors go to most often, and if they get error messages from web pages. These cookies don't collect information that identifies a visitor. All information these cookies collect is aggregated and therefore anonymous. It is only used to improve how a website works.

Our website carries advertisements using Google AdSense. This sets a cookie called DoubleClick which profiles individuals as they browse and is used to present them with advertisements customised to their interests. We may also set additional cookies to track the effectiveness of our adverts.

Google offers an Advertising Cookie Opt-out Plugin which allows you to opt out of the DoubleClick cookie. This will not stop advertisements appearing, but will mean they will not be tailored to your interests, and will prevent your anonymous browsing habits being recorded. You can also customise your advertisement preferences on the Google Ads Preferences page.

We also carry advertisements from Amazon. Amazon displays interest-based advertising using information you make available to them when you interact with their sites, content, or services. See Amazon's Cookies & Internet Advertising section for more information about the types of information that Amazon gather and how it is used. You can choose not to receive interest-based ads from Amazon. You will still see ads but they will not be personalised. Go to Amazon Advertising Preferences to set this.

We also have a "Like Box" link to our Facebook page. Read the Facebook help on Cookies, Pixels, and Similar Technologies.

These cookies fall in to Category 4 of the ICC UK Cookie guide, targeting or advertising cookies, and are third-party cookies.

By using our website, you agree that we can place these types of cookies on your device.

We may update this Privacy Policy in the future by posting a new version on our website. You should check this page occasionally to ensure you are happy with any changes.
